Led by colleagues at Dana-Farber and the Broad Institute, and in collaboration with members of our group, this study in Nature Medicine highlights a robust molecular stratification (based on enhancer signatures) of non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors that may ultimately help to inform postoperative clinical decisions.

In the latest issue of Science Translational Medicine, the Castro/Lowenstein laboratory at the University of Michigan, in collaboration with members of our group, demonstrates in mouse models that pharmacological inhibition of the DNA damage response sensitizes IDH1-mutant gliomas to radiation, thereby highlighting a new therapeutic strategy.

Through a collaborative effort, members of our research group have helped to identify SMARCAL1 inactivating mutations (a novel genetic mechanism of ALT) and chromosomal rearrangements upstream of TERT (a novel mechanism of telomerase activation) in glioblastomas.
